On one hand e-cigarette are considered to be safer than traditional cigarettes, but this is not proved till the end.So the risk to have a desease caused by the tobacco usage and cigarette smokoing still exists. the only way to protect yourself is to give up smoking and realise how many benefits you gain after doing that.

The government believes that by raising the taxes on cigarettes people will stop smoking, but I think this method will influence only to those people that are poor. And of course by raising taxes there will be prevented a lot of deseases caused by tobacco, which is very important for the whole society.

of course I agree with the fact that smoking ban should be indoors, but out doors I think it is already too much for many smokers. And i agree that in the bars and retaurant shouldnt be allowed smoking.
the aticle is great, because it informs us what happens to places that we have never been to.

There should be a law to back-charge these tobacco companies for any littered butts. This would cause these big companies to be more involved on educating about littering; or they would in turn have to raise their prices. This solution would then lead to a consumer / company accountability.

I would like to know when it became the responsibility of government, cigarette companies or whomever else they can find to include,to stop children from doing things they shouldn't or buying things they shouldn't be allowed to buy. WHY aren't PARENTS responsible for the CHILDREN! We monitored and watched what our children were doing and who they were with and when! PEER PRESSURE causes a lot more trials and problems than advertising and colors. Do you really think they read it and pay attention? AND WHERE IS THE GOVERNMENT GOING TO GET THE TAX DOLLARS WHEN PEOPLE QUIT SMOKING??????
IT'S BIG MONEY THEY GET FROM THE SALES OF CIGARETTES!

I personally think the ban of flavored tobacco is ridiculous. I have been smoking nothing but flavored tobacco for 4 years now. The reason? Cigarettes taste like shit. It is highly UNFAIR to take flavored smokes away from someone like me, who is enjoying them. Will banning flavored cigarettes prevent me from GETTING them? Probably not. Will banning them prevent me from smoking all together? Never.

We have a product proven in the fields of Soy Beans in NC by multiple farmers where drought stricken fields have produced larger crops than before the drought. It has been tested and marketed for years. There are scientific testimonials that will support this "Soy Soap"..It makes the plant feel threatened and therefore digs it's roots deeper and becomes more stable. Please look at the website BIOBASED.US for the videos and before and after pictures of the crops. I feel you will see the benefits of this. I am willing to provide samples to farmers and go with them to explain the product. The ultimate plan is to increase food production and end world hunger. Please feel free to contact me at BioEpicurean@aol.com for any questions and to set up samples. Thanks Les Snyder

I believe that any ban, restriction, or tax on any tobacco product should be removed immediately. I started smoking when i was 14, my first cigarette was a newport. Most of the kids i knew back then either smoked marlboro reds or newports. The Tobacco Tax has no economical effect that is positive; All it does is make people angry, make them spend less, and make stores lose money. Statistics show that Newport and Marlboro are the leading cigarettes smoked by minors and adults. If you banned marlboro and newport, the economy would tank and you would piss off a lot of people. we're talking riots here. Not just the smokers, the people who owned and worked for big tobacco would be pissed too. Sure tobacco is bad for you, theres no doubt about that, but its relaxing as hell. I say if you ban cigarettes you should ban alcohol as well; Oh wait, we tried that didnt we? That didnt work out too well either. Fast food is killing this country, but you wont ban fast food will you? coffee and caffine stunt growth and are just as addicting as nicotine, but you wont see that being banned. Tobacco like alcohol is a tradition in this country and you cant just take that away from people. Everyone has their own pleasurable poison, let them have it.

I think that the ban on flavored tobacco products is just ridiculous. Here we are in a country that claims to be free and the government is telling us which cigarettes we can and cannot smoke. If they wanted to help our nationwide health issue they would do something that would create a bigger impact. How about fast food. Obesity is a growing issue and will only continue to get worse. How many health issues are linked to obesity and yet you see a fast food establishment on almost every street. They are even allowed to directly advertise and draw in children with the use of toys, fun characters, and other gimmicks. The young people are not influenced to take up smoking because it tastes like chocolate or strawberry. The young people take up smoking because they see their parents, siblings, and friends doing it. It's "cool". You have to be 18 to buy tobacco products and as long as venders are doing their part then the underage smoker is not a heavy issue. The way I see it, when you are 18 it should be your choice to smoke or not and restrictions on what type of tobacco you can smoke should not exist. I am getting really frustrated with the government coming up with new things to take away everyday. There are laws restricting me from harming others with my second hand smoke such as which buildings i can and cannot smoke in so by smoking i am only hurting myself. Anyone who does not smoke and accepts a job at an establishment that allows it had the choice to deny that job offer. The same as with any consumer who walks in and has a problem with the smokers did not have to choose to patronize that establishment. I am very upset with the ban currently taking place and can say that if I had known this would be one of the things President Obama would do in office I would not have voted for him. It's called a veto Mr. President.

I don't get what the big idea is? When is the last time you heard a hookah killing someone??? Doesn't the gov see the af council adds for REGULAR ciggaretts why don't they ban that crap it kills people everyday, there are about 1000% more toxens in one cig then there are in smokin 4 hookahs, or wait... Taking down cig companys will screw te economy up even more, well what about all the bussiesses your about to shut down? I know in my area alone I have about 6-8 hookah bars that are PACKED every night. And who wants nothing more then to get off of work after a stressful day meet up with all your friends and relax and smoke hookah, it more of a social thing then an addiction to tobacco... Idk... Fuckin idiots will never get it, and We wonder why everything is so corrupt? Epic fail

Can anyone say Prohibition? Seriously, they should outlaw fruit and candy flavored liquor too while they are at it. Makes about at much sense.

I'm a smoker in my late twenties. I choose my cigarettes based on a combination of flavor and price. I am going to smoke, why not have my smokes taste good? My regular cigarettes were banned. I smoked a variety of menthols that apparently had some other kind of flavor additive mixed in. Probably why I liked them so much...

So... Can I add my own flavors for my own use? Or is that illegal too now?

As a responsible adult who occasionally enjoys clove cigarettes, I am outraged by this legislation. The first thing I will do when this ban goes into effect is to purchase clove cigarettes from Mexico. This ban will not deter young people from smoking, it will only send potential tax revenue to other markets, and that is a really dumb idea. On a side note, it is ridiculous and sheer hypocrisy to ban clove flavored cigarettes while allowing menthol to continue being sold. Both are flavored and both appeal to a younger demographic. Let's find a better way to steer young people away from nicotine addiction.
